
Over the past few months, I’ve been busy writing applications. It’s one of those things we don’t really talk about as artists.
After graduating, there is a strong pressure to produce. This year, however, I want to focus on deepening my practice. Writing applications has become a way of placing my practice within the structure of a year—thinking through what I want to research, where, and how.
By submitting different applications, I can distribute the various aspects of my work across several residencies: research questions, movement practice, dramaturgical explorations, and theatrical outcomes. The hope is to invite you along the way to different studio showings and moments of sharing.
