Kareth Schaffer is a choreographer and dance researcher who practices an expanded concept of choreography. Her connection to classical Indonesian dance began with her 2018 Pina Bausch fellowship at Mekar Bhuana Center for Music and Dance, Denpasar, and continued in the cross-cultural dance work Bee Dances, with Ninus. Schaffer is the artistic director of the Berlin-based Construction Company, and is currently pursuing a practice-based PhD at KU Leuven on Javanese dance in the diaspora.
