Asmara Pelupessy is a Bay Area, California-bred and Amsterdam-based cultural worker. She contributes to the Research Group Cultural Heritage at the Reinwardt Academy (Amsterdam University of the Arts) as researcher and project lead with an interest in decolonial heritage practices. Previous to this, Asmara worked across contemporary art, photography, journalism and education. She holds an Interdisciplinary Studies BA from University of California Berkeley and a MA from Leiden University in Photographic Studies.
